Siena Johnstone

Siena is in her final year of her Bachelor of Arts at the University of Queensland majoring in English Literature, Writing and Communications. Siena is deeply interested in literature and research that explores the intricacies of the human experience and how we connect and relate to each other and ourselves. In her professional life, Siena is a copywriter and content designer with experience spread across Australia, North America, and the United Kingdom.

Francis Harvey

Francis Harvey is a Brisbane-based writer and editor who commits his energy to developing the work of his peers. Following an internship at Griffith Review in 2023, he has taken on the role of Editor in Chief at Jacaranda Journal for 2024. He is concurrently completing a Masters degree in Writing, Editing and Publishing at University of Queensland, where his dissertation research focuses on the impact of AI on trade publishing.

 

EDITORIAL TEAM

Despina Cook

Despina is studying the Master of Writing, Editing and Publishing at the University of Queensland and has been awarded the 2024 Student Prize from The Institute of Professional Editors Limited (IPEd). Despina has an extensive corporate background in the finance industry and will be taking on the executive role as Jacaranda’s Treasurer this year.

Georgia Dal broi

By day, Georgia is a brand consultant with a focus on brand strategy, creative direction, brand experience, and copywriting. By night, she is studying a Masters of Writing, Editing and Publishing at University of Queensland while exploring fictional storytelling. She hosts a lighthearted podcast called PAGED and is the executive head of Digital Media at Jacaranda this year.

Euri Glenn

Euri Glenn is a writer, editor, and poet from Jambreen/Tamborine Mountain currently studying a master's degree. Through her work, Euri seeks to inspire change for the better of the world and the creatures who dwell within it. Euri will be taking on the executive role as Jacaranda’s Secretary .

Jade Doyle

Jade Doyle is an emerging writer who creates on the unceded lands of the Jagera people. She graduated from the University of Southern Queensland with a Distinction in English Literature and Creative and Critical Writing. Several of Jade’s own works have appeared in Voiceworks, Island, Corvid Queen, and the Australian Poetry Anthology 2023.

Jack Anthony

Jack Anthony is a writer, poet and editor from Meanjin/Brisbane, Australia. Since graduating from UQ with a degree in Writing, Jack's work has been published in anthologies such as Ink and Inclusion and Heartfelt, among other literary publications.

Saffron Jones

Saff is a nonbinary lesbian writer completing their dissertation as part of the MWEP program, primarily writing spec-fic and queer future-histories. When they are not procrastinating uni, they are working their day job as a bid writer, or trying (and failing) to not become a two-coffees-a-day person while hanging out with their three cats—Oreo, Breulei, and Chunky Beef.

Ciara O’Sullivan

Ciara is a Meanjin/Brisbane-based editor and writer currently completing her Masters of Writing, Editing, and Publishing at UQ. In her undergraduate Bachelor of Arts Ciara did an internship with the Islands at UQ, an online virtual population used by epidemiology and statistic students, as a copy writer.

Brock Scholte

Brock is an experimental writer and editor based in Meanjin. His writing writhes in the gaps between weird and weirder, with an emphasis on eutopianism. He can be found at @scholteyyy on Instagram or at brockscholte.com
